Canterbury Youth Voices

In our 23rd year, Canterbury Youth Voices (CYV) continues our mission as a curricular and performance-based youth choral program, stressing artistic excellence with enhanced musical literacy through music training and performance opportunities. Children attending public, home, private, and parochial schools, make new friends while experiencing the excitement of music in a supportive and nurturing environment.

We value our unique role in central Oklahoma by actively seeking and supporting all young people who demonstrate a commitment to better themselves, their schools, and their communities through training as an auditioned youth singer in the CYV program.

The curriculum-based program offers performance opportunities and experiences that set the CYV program apart from other regional children's choruses.

From the Pops, Classics and Discovery Series of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic to the ACDA National Convention, CYV students perform in a variety of venues with educationally appropriate repertoire that builds skill sets transferable to other areas of learning and increases their love of singing.

My favorite memory is singing on stage of the Civic Center for Carmina Burana with my choir. I had sung with the Philharmonic before during War Requiem, and I loved being right in the middle of the orchestra and with Canterbury Voices. I was unforgettably, inside the music.
