Lyric mezzo-soprano Jennifer Coffman pursued her Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a Vocal Concentration from the D’Angelo School of Music at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania and her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. Jennifer was featured as the title role in both Handel’s Oreste and Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges while at Westminster and performed with the After Dinner Opera Company in Les contes d’Hoffmann (Nicklausse), The Medium (Madame Flora), The Mikado (Katisha), and Little Women (Jo) while at Mercyhurst. Ms. Coffman has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the New York City Gilbert and Sullivan Society, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Princeton Musicians Society, and at the Spoleto Festival. She has studied with Metropolitan Soprano Sharon Sweet and coached with Met Conductor Daniel Beckwith, as well as Rachelle Jonck, and OCU’s Joe Fitzgerald.
Jennifer is currently studying with Dr. Robert Glaubitz, Director of UCO School of Music & Artistic Director of Painted Sky Opera. Ms. Coffman has been honored to perform several times with PSO: twice as part of the cast of Amahl and the Night Visitors and in the productions of Madama Butterfly and Pagliacci, and Carmen. Jennifer is also honored to be a member of both Canterbury Voices and Canterbury Chamber Voices, both under the direction of Randi Von Ellefson.
