Unchanged voices, Grades 4-6
Singers learn appropriate repertoire and musical literacy skills in Bel Canto, grades 4-6. While Prelude is not a prerequisite for Bel Canto, singers in Bel Canto build upon the skills developed in Prelude. Bel Canto singers focus on learning how to sing in multiple parts while continuing to develop a love of choral music through performance.
In Bel Canto, students:
- 2025 OkMEA Honor Choir
- Approach music through the * Kodály method, which helps develop music literacy in a systematic, age appropriate way.
- Instructional goals include giving each child the necessary skills for a lifelong appreciation of choral singing. Bel Canto rehearses Tuesdays from 6:00-7:30 PM.
- Appear regularly on CYV concerts
- Featured four times as an OkMEA Honor Choir, including 2025
